River Ridge Chapel is where you are only a visitor one time! With one visit you become family here in Bracey, Virginia! On the beautiful Lake Gaston shoreline! We are a Non-Denominational Church who believe in the Trinity, that salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, and that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God which is taught here. At River Ridge Chapel, our mission is to spread the message of faith and love to all. We strive to provide a spiritual sanctuary where individuals can find solace, guidance, and a sense of belonging. Through our worship services, community outreach, and fellowship opportunities, we aim to nurture a strong faith community that supports and uplifts one another.

Leadership
Pastor Kim Goodin
Pastor Kim Goodin was called to serve River Ridge Chapel September 7, 2025. In September and October, Kim and Pastor Pearce worked together for a smooth transition prior to Pastor Pearce's retirement at the end of October. Before being called to River Ridge, Kim served for 5 years as an Associate pastor at Liberty Community Christian Church in Kernersville, NC.
Kim grew up in a Christian home and likes to say he has been in church since being in the nursery as a crib baby. Kim felt lead to full time ministry as a young teenager. He served as a church leader in various positions from Youth Group President while in high school, to Deacon, Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, Visitation/Outreach Director, Sunday School Director, Sunday School Teacher, Choir/Music Minster, even Church Janitor at one point. Kim is not one for titles but wants to be God's servant, serving wherever God sends him. Kim was ordinated at Surf City Baptist Church in Surf City NC in 1990 and served as Youth Pastor and Associate Minster there.
Kim and his wife of 40 years (come July) sold their business in April of 2025 and came to the Lake Gaston area investing in property to use as a short-term vacation rental, but God had other plans. Seeing a post on Facebook searching for a new pastor at River Ridge Chapel Kim felt God’s calling to inquire about the position. Without going into detail, we can simply say God orchestrated the events in such a way there was no doubt God was moving Kim and his wife to a new part of the vineyard here at River Ridge. Now both Kim and Cindy are residents of River Ridge having purchased a home in Coyote.
Kim’s favorite Bible verse has always been Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
